Buwan ng Wika Festivities


A.C.I. CELEBRATES THE “BUWAN NG WIKA”

 The School Quadrangle's stage along with the School's Quadrangle are the official venues for this years Buwan ng Wika culminating activity events.



 
Sorsogon City, Philippines- Every August the Department of Education , Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino(in eng. Commission of the Language Filipino), Aemilianum and all the schools across the archipelago celebrate the buwan ng wika or Language Month. It is celebrated on the 8th month of the year in honour of our national language which is Filipino (basically based in Tagalog). This year’s motto: “Tatag ng Wikang Pilipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino” or in English, “The solidarity of the Filipino language is the strength of being a Filipino”.

Sabayang Pagbigkas- In English, chorus recital, all sections of the school participate the event showing different styles on how to perform this year’s recital: Wikang Filipino sa Pambansang Kalayaan at Pagkakaisa (Filipino, the language of Freedom and Unity) by Pat V. Villafuerte.

Laro ng Lahi- Or game of the ancestors is another event where students play some locally Filipino made games.

Mutya ng Wikang Pambansa- In other words Maiden of the National Language is a search contest made especially for the girls (from the word Maiden which means young women of course, so no man can  possibly enter, otherwise....). It is a contest to find a young blossoming girl who has beauty, talent and finally has a know-how in the Language of Filipino.
